The Lord God then said to the woman, "What have you done?"
The Lord God then said to the woman, "What have you done?"
The Lord God then said to the woman, "What have you done?"
The man said, "The woman you gave me to be my companion gave me fruit from the tree, and I ate it".
And God said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the fruit of the tree from which I forbade you to eat?"
And he answered, "I heard your footsteps in the garden and I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid myself"
When the man and his wife heard the voice of the Lord God, who was walking in the garden when the day breeze blew, they hid from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called out to the man, saying, "Where are you?"
When the woman saw that the tree was pleasant to the taste, attractive to the eye and also desirable for gaining insight, she took of its fruit, ate it and gave it to her husband, who was with her, and he also ate. At that moment, their eyes were opened and they realized that they were naked, so they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves.
But the serpent said to the woman, "You will not die! God knows that on the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you, like God, will know good and evil."
The woman answered the serpent: "We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden, but God has said, 'Do not eat of the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, and do not touch it; otherwise you will die'."
In the Garden of Eden, there was a serpent more cunning than all the wild animals that the Lord God had made. It said to the woman, "Is that really what God said: 'Do not eat any fruit from the trees of the garden'?"
Thus, the creation account reveals not only God's power and wisdom, but also His love and care in creating a good and beautiful world, in which man and woman were placed to live, work, and enjoy an intimate relationship with the Creator and with each other.
The Lord God placed man and woman in the Garden of Eden to live happily and take care of creation. They enjoyed all that God had made, living in perfect harmony with Him and with each other. In the garden, there was abundance and peace, and God's presence was constant.
For this reason, a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. The man and his wife lived naked and felt no shame.

Then the Lord God said, "It is not good that man should be alone; I will make for him someone who will help him and correspond to him." God formed from the earth all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air, and brought them to man to see what he would call them. And man gave names to all living beings, but no one was found for man who would help him and correspond to him.
God took man and placed him in the Garden of Eden to cultivate and guard it. And God commanded the man: "Eat freely from any tree in the garden, but do not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die."
A river flowed out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it divided into four branches. The first was called Pishon, which surrounded the land of Havilah, where there was gold. The gold of that land was good; there was also bdellium and onyx stone. The second river was called Gihon, which surrounded the land of Cush. The third river was called the Tigris, which flowed through the east of Assyria. And the fourth river was the Euphrates.
After God created man, he planted a garden in Eden, in the region to the east, and placed the man he had formed there. God made every tree that was pleasing to the eye and good for food grow out of the ground. In the middle of the garden was the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

So the heavens and the earth and all their host were completed. On the seventh day, God finished the work he had done, and rested on that day from all the work he had done. God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creation that he had done.
God also said, "Behold, I give them every plant yielding seed that is on the whole earth, and every tree on which is fruit yielding seed; this shall be for food. And to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to every living thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I give every green plant for meat". And so it happened. God saw everything he had made, and it was very good. There was evening and there was morning - the sixth day.
God blessed them and said to them: "Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the sky and over all the animals that move on the earth."
Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, over the domestic animals, over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth". God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
On the sixth day, God said: "Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds: domestic animals, reptiles and wild animals according to their kinds". And so it happened. God made the wild animals according to their species, the domestic animals according to their species, and all the reptiles of the earth according to their species. God saw that this was good.
On the fifth day, God said: "Let the waters be filled with swarms of living creatures, and let the birds fly above the earth under the firmament of the heavens". God created the great sea animals and all the living creatures that move, which populate the waters according to their species, and all the birds according to their species. God saw that this was good. God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the waters of the seas; and let the birds multiply on the earth." There was evening and morning - the fifth day.
On the fourth day, God said: "Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; let them be for signs, for appointed times, for days and years; and let them be lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth." And so it happened. God made the two great lights: the greater to rule the day and the lesser to rule the night; he also made the stars. God placed them in the firmament of the heavens to illuminate the earth, to rule the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. God saw that this was good. There was evening and morning - the fourth day.
Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth vegetation: herbs yielding seed, and fruit trees yielding fruit after their kind, whose seed is in it, upon the earth." And so it happened. The earth produced vegetation: herbs bearing seed after their kind and trees bearing fruit, whose seed was in it, after their kind. God saw that this was good. There was evening and morning - the third day.
On the third day, God said, "Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together in one place, and let the dry land appear." And so it happened. God called the dry element "earth" and the gathering of the waters "seas". God saw that this was good.
On the second day, God said: "Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let there be a separation between the waters and the waters". So God made the firmament and separated the waters that were under the firmament from the waters that were above the firmament. God called the firmament "heavens". There was evening and morning - the second day.

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty; darkness was over the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God hovered over the waters.
