Generation details

There are images of gods, Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and lay people in Dunhuang murals. The images of lay people are full of life and express the characteristics of the times more vividly; while the images of gods change less and are more imaginative and exaggerated. In terms of clothing, the lay people mostly wear Chinese clothes from the Central Plains, while the gods mostly keep exotic clothes. The sfumato dyeing methods are also different. The lay people mostly use the Central Plains smudge dyeing method, while the gods mostly use the concave and convex method from the Western Regions. All of these are constantly changing with the times.
