Once Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was praying in Masjid an-Nabawi. Then he noticed an old man bowing and prostrating very slowly while praying. After the prayer, the Prophet (PBUH) called him and said, "O old man! You are old, you are weak. Make it easy for you to pray according to your body. Allah Ta'ala does not want us to be harsh, He wants ease. So simply pray." The old man was very happy and said, “O Messenger of Allah (PBUH), Alhamdulillah, you have taught me simplicity. From now on, I will pray simply." Through this story we are being taught that Allah does not impose any hardship on us. Islam has prescribed for us an easy and tolerable way of worship. Therefore, without showing harshness in worship, worship should be done by accepting the ease and mercy of Allah.
